Junior Fusion

Making Music Exciting and Fun!

Junior Fusion is a choir for kids ages 7-13. The class meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00pm. Registration is now open for the Spring 2025 semester. Classes begin January 16th and run for 13 weeks, with April 10 as the last day of the semester. The choirs perform as the opening act at the Choral Fusion Concert that is slated to occur on April 18th-21st. The choir is divided into two groups:

The class time is divided into two alternating blocks where the groups spend equal time singing and learning choreography. Each group will learn to perform 3-4 songs, with 1 or 2 of them choreographed each semester.

Sing!

Junior Fusion sings music that is energetic, fun and age appropriate. Careful consideration is given to helping the participants gain the following skills:

• Matching pitch
• Matching vowels
• Adjust their own sound while listening to the sound of the group
• Sing words with clarity. A substantial amount of time is dedicated in each class/rehearsal to learning how to project consonants so that the words of the song are understood by the audience
• Feeling the beat and rhythm as a group
• Feel the excitement that comes from learning a song well and having a chance to perform it
• Learning to perform in front of people

Dance!

Learning to sing while dancing makes a better singer and helps the participant develop bodily awareness and confidence. Choreography also adds an awesome dimension to the music that builds positive energy and excitement.
