Joseph Haws

Director of Choral Fusion and Junior Fusion

Joseph Haws is a native of the Columbia Basin. His musical training began at age 5 at the piano. He spent many hours as a homeschooled child and youth listening to, playing, and singing music. After a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Northeast Brazil, he went to Brigham Young University majoring in Piano Performance, and learning piano technology. After earning his Bachelors of Music Degree and studying with the university staff piano technicians, he began work as a piano technician/rebuilder with a world renowned piano restoration company in North Salt Lake City, Utah.

Joe returned to the Columbia Basin in 2007. He continued working on pianos, started a piano studio, and worked for the family business (Agri-TRAC) in North Franklin County. In 2011 he joined the Mid-Columbia Mastersingers and began his involvement in the local choral scene. He sang with Mastersingers for 6 years, and loved the opportunities to sing great choral works with his peers.

As his children grew and began singing with him, Joe became inspired to help other youth find the same joy in music. He joined TCYC in January 2018 as Vocal Director for Forte! In fall 2018 he helped form the Bravo! Children’s group. During his time at TCYC he loved helping youth and children find great choral sound, and learn how to use their voices to bring joyful energy to themselves and audiences alike. He is excited to be directing the Fusion choirs now. Joe, his wife Adrienne, and their 10 children love to sing together, and love bringing the joy of music to the youth and children in our great community.
